Use of carbon fiber tubing makes this two-stage video tripod one of the lightest in its class. The 542 uses our patented A.R.T. (Advanced Release Technology) mechanism for the fastest opening, positioning and closing of any video tripod in the world, ideal for filming under pressure. Comes with 100mm-75mm bowl adapter for compatibility with all industry-standard half-ball video heads. Included mid level "squid" spreader offers improved anti-torsion resistance and keeps legs locked safely in position even when space is cramped and tripod footprint is necessarily smaller. Double stainless steel spiked feet also come with quick-on/off rubber shoes for better grip on smooth floors. No protruding parts, levers or knobs to catch or damage. When closed, tripod legs interlock without additional clips, straps or hooks to ensure compactness and prevent damage. Leg lock mechanism can be adjusted for increased or reduced tightness.

This acronym, A.R.T., ADVANCED RELEASE TECHNOLOGY, is the name we have given to the mechanism that allows the tripod to be opened and locked into position as soon as the legs have been spread. This ingenious technology is based on the movement of the mid-level spreader during the opening and closing of the tripod. It operates the locking devices of the top and bottom leg sections. When the legs are parallel the locks are released, while an inclination of only 5° is sufficient to lock the legs into position.

Each leg can be individually set quickly and precisely. Positioning the tripod anywhere between minimum and maximum height can be done in four seconds. The tripod can be opened to any height or inclination from fully closed position in a matter of seconds
